Our ethos.

Selfishly Selfless aims to provide an accessible mental health service for anyone in need.

Accessibility is more poignant now than ever; waiting times are at a soaring high and people are describing feeling exhausted and unheard before they are even assessed, followed by an up-hill battle to get the treatment they need.

Selfishly Selfless vows to provide you with the care you need, when you need it.

Breaking down barriers.

No problem is too little or too great.

A common barrier to accessing support can be how your symptoms present. You may have been told that your symptoms do not meet the service’s threshold for support. That is, you are either doing too well or there is not capacity to see you at the moment. Not only can this feel demoralising but it can also lead to you doubting when the right time to access professional support is.

The truth is that there is no correct answer to this. If the way you are thinking, feeling or behaving is something you wish to change then please don’t hesitate to contact us. In many respects, early intervention is the best route as it can prevent things becoming more unmanageable for you in the future.

Bare in mind that the severity of your difficulties will vary across your life and you will respond differently to someone else. For example, when faced with the same problem one individual may respond by shutting down and withdrawing, whereas another may appear impervious to their distress and continue their usual routine. But does this mean that one persons distress is greater than the others? Or is one individual more entitled to get support than the other?

Selfishly selfless has worked hard to breakdown these barriers and offer support to all regardless of service boundaries.
