How can we help?
Selfishly Selfless offers a range of support for mental health difficulties.
We provide self help manuals for you to read through at your own leisure (e.g. ‘How can I manage my anxiety?’, ‘How can I improve my relationships with others?’).
We also offer a platform for you to access 1:1 therapy over the telephone, video or via text.
Selfishly Selfless
The concept of being “selfishly selfless” originates from an intrinsic need to care for others, yet also prioritise and invest in ourselves. These two seemingly opposing concepts must both occur at the same time if we are to fully encompass self care. It is only by considering these concepts together that we can create a new truth and new way of viewing our emotional needs.
Why get help?
Understanding
Often we struggle to understand why we feel the way we do, or how we came about feeling this way.
Therapy can help you to understand your difficulties so that you can move forward and create a life worth living.
It is through an enhanced understanding that we can create and embed change.
Gain control
Gaining greater control over your emotions gives you more choice.
Instead of reacting impulsively and doing something you later regret, you can learn to press pause. You can act in ways which get you what you want and make you feel good about yourself.
Reduce pain
If you can learn to manage your emotions then you are less likely to feel sad about a problem that happened earlier or may happen in the future.
When present you can laugh out loud without feeling self-conscious, play football without worrying about spectators or go for a walk and quite literally smell the roses!
A healthy mind equals a healthy body.
Being in control of your emotions will lessen your pain, tension and stress, as well as improving your physical health.
